Kade and I loved the Forest Schools workshop hosted by Nature Plays inside the stunning Oranjezicht City Farm (@ozcfarm) on 30th November 2019.

🌳 📚After this great first experience of the Forest Schools system, and what they entail, I am going to explore Kade doing one day less a week at his Montessori school and replacing it with a day at a forest school instead.

My reasons behind wanting to do this for Kade include the following:

  • Conventional classroom learning can be stifling, especially in mainstream schools.
  • Letting your child be free as much as possible in nature can teach them so many wonderful things including how amazing nature is, how we humans need a healthy environment to thrive ourselves and to work as a team and accept other points of view on the world – all of which are vital skills needed when they become an adult.
