Alka Bath Alka Vita review great health naturally

Did you know that when babies are in the womb the water they are bathing in has a pH of 8.5, which is alkaline? This in part helps to contribute to their incredibly soft skin that smells so delightful! Alka Bath pH Balancing Bath Salts when added to your bath water, also helps to create a pH of 8.5 for your skin to bath in. Doing this can encourage toxins and waste build up in your body to exit via the largest organ, the skin, and can help support not only skin health (including children’s), but your muscles and body fluid regulation too.

So Many Powerful Ingredients With So Many Uses

When I first received my box of 5 sachets of Alka Bath to try, I thought it would be much like the other types of bath salts commonly found on the market that usually contain only Epsom salts. Which although are brilliant for health, I soon noticed Alka Vitae’s Alka Bath contained a unique combination of ingredients when compared to others on the market, all specifically chosen to do a variety of positive things for your body and skin.

  • The main ingredients in their product is ‘maris sal’, which is dead sea salts to you or I, which has long been hailed as being brilliant for skin health.

Alka Vita also chose to include in this product;

  • Carbonates and bicarbonates to help de-acidy your body through your skin,
  • Himalayan salt that has 84 minerals and trace elements naturally found within,
  • 12 different kinds of precious stones in pure powder form,
  • Magnesium and calcium to help sore soothe muscles after a stressful day or a work-out,
  • And finally, potassium and sodium are also included for their ability to support body fluid regulation.

What’s In The Box And What Did It Do For My Skin?

As you can see, in my box of Alka Bath pH Balancing Salts, I received 5 sachets, which is 275g in total. They are priced at £7.95 which I found really reasonable given that one sachet weighs 55g, and with this box they can last you a long time, as they can be used in the following variety of ways:

  • 5 full baths using one sachet at a time,
  • Multiple hip baths which uses only 4-6 teaspoons (18 – 27 grams) of a sachet per hip bath,
  • Many foot baths as you need only 2 teaspoons (9 grams) of a sachet per foot bath,
  • and a large amount of hand baths as only 2 teaspoons per hand bath (9 grams) of a sachet is needed.

I really enjoyed using the bath salts in my bath, and as a foot bath, but what made the biggest difference to my skin on a personal level was using the bath salts in my shower as directed below and in the booklet guide (also pictured above).

To have a pH balancing shower, the Alka Vitae booklet advises that you;

  • have a warm shower and cleanse first with your usual soap.
  • Once rinsed off, you then massage small amounts of the pH balancing bath salts all over your body or selected areas.

For me my problem areas are the backs of my arms, backs of my legs and knees. As since having my son 2 years ago I have been getting dry skin on my knees and break outs on the back of my legs and arms. I have to say I loved using the bath salts on these problem areas and in the way suggested as it has really improved these areas. I also never thought of using a bath salt in this way for anything other than dissolving in a bath! Genius really.

I also definitely felt more relaxed, and so did my back muscles, after having a full bath using the salts. As carrying my 13kg son around for a lot of the day also places heavy strain on this area. I  also placed my son in a bath with a sachet of salts and saw it helped his skin feel softer too. I did this because in their guide that comes with the sachets of bath salts, Alka Vitae state this product is great for children too.

I also firmly believe we owe it to to our children to try to help their tiny bodies remove harmful toxins that are proven to be more dangerous in small amounts than compared to adults. So this product really suits me as I am really conscious of the many chemicals floating around in our environment that he could breathe in, and that he may take in through food and skincare products.

Where Toxins and Acid Build Up Comes From + Why We Need To Help Remove Them

Like I just touched on with my son as an example, using the skin to remove toxins and acidity is a great way to support all over body health. But especially if you have been having trouble with your skin for various reasons.

As a natural nutritionist I often include in my clients diet and lifestyle overhaul, a section on supporting skin health, usually using dry skin brushing or Epsom salt baths. I definitely feel a quality and powerful product like Alka Vitae Alka Bath pH Balancing Bath Salts have a place for my clients too now, given the many ingredients they have specially chosen to support the skins natural pH, and ultimately given how gentle and soothing they are.

Some of the minerals that have been found to improve skin health, are also found within Himalayan salt within these salts. These include chromium, iodine, zinc and sulfur. And given your skin can absorb things, this can help your body take in nutrients it may be lacking in also in this way. (Just think about how drug patches work as an example of using the skin for absorption purposes).

Many people think that by eating a healthy diet that this will be enough to build good long lasting health. And whilst it is a great start, especially if you are eating organic food, do think about:

  • how polluted our air is from fossil fuels constantly burning and how this may be impacting your health through breathing them in regularly, and
  • how the tap water we drink is never really clean and pure because it contains chemicals to clean it and make it safe but also contains low levels of drugs and other contaminants too small to be filtered out by regular government filtration systems which are often quite basic.

All of the above are more reasons to try to go that extra step when it comes to supporting skin health beyond simply eating healthily and to consider employing various natural methods to help assist in the removal of these nasty chemicals. As no one has ever tested the collective effects of all these harmful chemicals freely circulating in our environment, the products we use on our skin and the food we eat.

Support Skin Health Gently With Alka Bath Sachets

Skin naturally has a pH is 5.5, and so this is why you don’t need your skin to sit in alkaline water all day long, as it would create problems in the long run. Many of us are eating acidic diets that do not help promote a slightly alkaline pH that the body prefers overall, which is a pH of approximately 7.3, and are struggling as a result of not ridding the body of acid waste build up produced by the many ways mentioned above.

This is all why I feel we should be actively considering using products like Alka Vitae Bath pH Balancing Bath Salts to help our bodies remove more harmful waste from time to time. To purchase the Alka Bath Sachets, you can either buy them directly from the Alka Vitae website, or from a local health store near you.
