Why “meals as medicine”? I hear you say.

Let’s start with focusing on the fact that every single bite you eat and put into your body has a positive or negative effect on your health.

When you choose healthy foods your body prefers (as we are all unique) to eat regularly- you have immense power in your hands and food becomes medicine.

Let’s expand on that a little more…

Healthy meals and snacks are what give your body, deep on a cellular level, what it needs to:
🥑 repair,
🥑 grow,
🥑have energy,
🥑have a balanced and correctly functioning immune system,
🥑detox the daily accumulated natural waste by-products,
🥑have great mental health.

None of the above can happen or will happen if you are not nutritionally sound and are riddled with deficiencies. Which is where food comes in.

“Food first” is a common line that is said by nutritionists and other health and wellness practitioners, and it means before going in hard with drugs and other unnecessary procedures even – assess and improve a patients food intake (and work on digestion) before doing any other interventions. This is not the only tool I might add in my tool kit with patients, but it’s a very crucial starting point towards achieving optimal wellness.

The meals and snacks you eat have the power to create great health or to slowly chip away and knock down the health you have until you are labelled with a disease, syndrome or some form of chronic illness.

Choose meals as medicine and you will be taking great leaps towards better energy, health, fertility – whatever your goals are!
