Teagime – A Prescription Tea Regime Designed To Boost Your Personal Health Needs

July 27, 2016

I think tea is pretty fantastic. This is because since ditching caffeinated tea many years ago, it allowed me to discover an Aladdin’s Cave full of tempting tea flavours. I now have a selection of personal teas in my cupboard that I employ to help support my body and mind through whatever health challenges I am personally facing. This is why I was extremely excited to see the Teagime brand launch. As this British company (based in Peterborough), will create a custom-blended teatox just for you that could help improve your health and help you to get in shape, all whilst enjoying teas that you love. And no, ‘teatox’s’ are not mean to be used in a way that drain you (i.e. by only drinking…

June 27, 2016

There are many more ways to boost your energy levels than reaching for a cup of coffee first thing. Ingredients like royal jelly, and ginseng found in Vital Pur Energy vials by Drasanvi, can also contribute to providing an instant energy lift to help you out when life gets hectic! Royal Jelly, Ginseng + Guarana = A Powerful Combination For Energy Many people have heard of royal jelly, but not many people know that it is rich in many different nutrients. How Hyper-Hygienic Lifestyles Are Killing Our Health – My Book Review Of The Microbiome Solution by Dr. Robynne Chutkan

February 2, 2016

You will never successfully lose weight or experience truly great health on all levels, including mentally, if your gut health is not your priority. I believed this before reading Dr. Robynne Chutkan’s latest book, ‘The Microbiome Solution; A Radical Way To Heal Your Body From The Inside Out’, but now I have read it, I believe it even more so and I am passionate about getting this message out there to more people who need to hear it. The Microbiome Solution, the latest book by integrative gastroenterologist Dr. Chutkan, discusses ground breaking research on the microbiome (the collective name for the trillions of bacteria live within and on us), and explains in great interesting depth, how depleting the good bugs within us can not only…

Is it Time to Consider Private Health Care? – Aviva Health Insurance

April 10, 2013

With headlines all over the place in the last few months, stating that our NHS health care system is over stretched, and in worst cases causing life threatening mistakes – I ask the question: is it time to consider choosing private health care? There are many on the market to choose from and one that particularly caught my attention if you are looking at going down this route is Aviva Private Health Insurance. I at one point never believed in private health care, because of the fact that for all of us who have or still do currently pay National Insurance here in the UK – this is ultimately how our National Healthcare System is funded at present, so I would think ‘why must I…

Product Review: Truly Moroccan Organic Argan Oil

March 29, 2013

I was recently sent a sample bottle of Truly Moroccan Argan Oil to try. I had never used Argan Oil before so it was great to be sent something new to try for external skin health. How I used the Argan Oil: on my body after a shower as a moisturiser. I would use it alone or mixed with a small bit of body cream. When added to a bit of cream it helped the Argan Oil go further, and acted like an emulsifier enabling the oil to be penetrated deeper into my skin. a few drops on my face at night – also added to a little day cream for better penetration of nutrients. on the ends of my hair before shampooing as a…

Healthy Restaurant Review: Wellness Warehouse / Lifestyles on Kloof – Cape Town, South Africa

March 26, 2013

I had the pleasure of living in South Africa for 5 years, and when I was there I traveled all over sampling delightful healthy menus. This is the country after all, where my journey towards great health began. One place that always keeps me coming back for me is the Wellness Warehouse on Kloof Street, Cape Town. So naturally, when I was there two weeks ago on holiday I could not resist a visit to the Wellness Warehouse to order some healthy food for lunch. I ordered from the buffet, see my picture below: Sorry it looks a bit half eaten – that’s because it was! I was enjoying it so much I almost forgot to take a picture! The buffet is great, you simply…

Bupa – Advent Calendar

December 20, 2012

Bupa have gone and created another very useful and easy to understand (for those of us who prefer health tips in plain English anyway) health section on their website dedicated to the festive Christmas season. It is called the Bupa advent calendar. Bupa’s advent calendar is there to help you find find healthy and stay healthy over the season that so many of us tend to just lose our minds over. When Christmas season arrives, everyone seems to relax a lot more than normal and whilst I think this is a great thing as the more fun we have the better, but what people don’t always realise is this fun at Christmas can come with a price. Plus the after effects can last well into the New Year. This is not always what everyone…
