Bupa find healthy is a newly updated, and revamped extensive range of easy to use tools to help you find healthy. This service is aimed at everyone of all ages – especially for those  who are not sure whether they are currently healthy and wish to learn more. From free exercise programmes and health assessments covering a variety of major health issues, to apps and expert advice. So, by simply going to the find healthy link, it couldn’t be easier to discover all the ways Bupa could help you.

I must admit, when Bupa first launched this new service I initially thought it was going to be just like the other questionnaires out there on the internet – long, tedious and overwhelmingly scary. But nothing could have been further from the truth. As, in reality the Bupa apps and surveys are presented in a very colourful, easy to digest, and modern way. With them being so well put together and taking no longer than 10 minutes to complete I found finding out about my current health status dare I say… enjoyable! Not to mention that some of the apps are available to download on your Apple or Android device – talk about keeping up with the times.

Imagine a world where health information was broken down into easy to take in bite size chunks like Bupa have demonstrated in their new campaign. We might all then be willing to learn more about our bodies and how we can take care of them better.

So, I am hoping that due to all of this ‘modernising’, the Find Healthy campaign will appeal to the younger generation to help them seek advice immediately should a potential serious health problem show its ugly head in the early stages. This would then give them a much higher success rate for overcoming the disease or problem.

Aside from this, the apps do cover a wide range of health topics, so I am sure everyone will find something interesting to have a go at. Here is a short list of some of the Bupa content I experimented with:

exercise – how to get started

diabetes risk assessment

running training programmes

nutritional guidance

what is your health age

stress assessment plus a look at how stress effects your health

breast, prostate, lung and bowel cancer risk assessment

To be able to access the health quizzes and apps, I first had to create an account with Bupa which was not a bother as it took 30 seconds approximately. Then each time I did a quiz it saved all of my answers at that point, so if I did not have time to finish a test I could save it and come back to it later which is rather convenient!

The results of the health surveys(which is what I was most interested in) then go on to give you an idea of how high (percentage wise) the chances of you developing a certain disease are. They also highlight areas you need to work on to bring your chances of developing it/them down. Plus because the results are saved in your profile forever –  I think it would be great to look back and compare your own personal results once you have adopted some new healthier lifestyle habits.

I also learnt some new pointers from the fitness apps, as they presented me with some tips on how to run properly (which I am quite new too), and how to care for my joints – as the two go together.

Overall, I found the apps and surveys very easy to use and the results of each health quiz came back in quick too. I experimented and tried quite a few, and thought after trying them out and seeing whether they would benefit me – that they definitely would and will be something I recommend to my own clients.

Even though I am a natural nutritionist, and really genuinely practise what I preach to my clients when it comes to how to take care of themselves, I genuinely believe prevention is the only cure. So this is why I try to give myself and my family the largest dose of prevention through eating a very healthy diet, living a mindful lifestyle and being sure to on top of this include a regular exercise routine. Even though I do all of this – I still found myself getting very curious about what the health assessments would say.

I was pleased though to see my results came back very good on all the apps and surveys I used, and I was especially happy to know my health age was five years younger than I am! Bonus! I feel this was quite accurate (seriously!) because of how I live my life now and have done for the last five years. Which sadly seeing it first hand with clients, not everyone does. Or do they know enough about how much healthy living can make such a dramatic positive change to your health.

But it was interesting to know that even though I used to smoke (I quit over five years ago) this can still play a role in increasing your health age – so it is something that will always stay with you but the longer you smoke according to the quiz the more problems you could encounter.

The diabetes health assessment said I am currently doing all I can to prevent diabetes, but I do love that they still mentioned there is a possible link between a lower chance of developing diabetes if you eat a diet high in vegetables and nuts.

So, I loved the fact they mentioned nutrition on most of these tests as it is vital and the one thing we have complete control over in our day to day lives.

To those who know me, I am a big promoter that people should be taking their own health into their own hands in the ways they can. Now you can do just that by getting reliable (which is the key here to its success!) and trusted advice from the leaders in private health care – Bupa.

So don’t be shy, go and have a go on the Bupa Find Healthy campaign. Start getting some pointers on whether you are healthy, or is there something you could be doing something to improve your overall health even more? Because nothing is more important than your health and your life. When you have good health remember, you also have happiness.

Bupas free and easy to use app’s are here to help all of us notice the first signs of a major illness which if it turns out you are in a high risk bracket, I would strongly suggest you make an appointment with your doctor and discuss your results immediately.

But Bupa are quite clear that although they want to give you pointers on your current health status do remember that the online health checks they provide are not designed or intended to provide a detailed health assessment of any diagnosis of any condition. If you require a detailed health assessment or the diagnosis of any symptoms, you should attend a full Bupa Health Assessment or consult a doctor.

I sincerely hope you enjoy learning about your health with Bupa’s new Find Healthy service. You owe it to yourself to give the best to yourself. Why not start today by checking your current health status online?
