This gluten free and dairy free quiche base recipe is really easy peasy to to make! And it takes hardly anytime! Don’t feel stuck for choice when it comes to restricted diets, give this quiche base a go and choose your fillings and bake like you would a normal quiche! Best of all this quiche base is free of dangerous and damaged trans fat! (FYI: Coconut oil is a good trans fat!)

This recipe will serve between 4-6 people depending on the serving size, and takes 10 minutes to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 and a half cups of organic gluten free rice or buckwheat flour
  • half a cup of clean purified water
  • half a cup of coconut oil/butter

Recipe:

Put the gluten free flour into a medium sized bowl, then take the coconut butter and work this through with your fingertips. Here you are aiming to get the flour and diary free butter to mix and look almost like breadcrumbs by mixing them with your fingers.

Once you have achieved this, add the water. Then make a ‘dough ball’ with your hands. The dough ball should feel slightly sticky and not dry. If it feels too dry you may want to add more water to help you work with the dough when it comes to  making your quiche.

Next, put the dough ball into the centre of your slightly pre-oiled quiche tin, and press the dough flat working it up to the sides of the tin as well. Remember you do not need the quiche base to be perfect looking it is all about the taste after all!

Oi la! all you need to do now is choose your fillings, mix with coconut milk if you do not want to use animal milk, pour them into the quiche base, and bake for 30-45minutes on high.
